Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das (1870-1925 AD) - General Knowledge of Modern India
Early life of Chittaranjan DasDeshbandhu Chittaranjan Das was one of the few famous lawyers of Bengal. He was born in 1870 AD in Munshiganj district, Bangladesh. His father's name was Bhuvan Mohan Das and mother's name was Nistarini Devi. He was born in a Vaidya-Brahmin family. After being attracted to the Congress, Chittaranjan Das made the service of the nation his goal. In 1917 AD, he started giving active cooperation in the national movement and severely criticized the Act of 1919 AD.
Education
There were many lawyers in the Das family. Chittaranjan Das's uncle Durga Mohan Das was associated with the Brahmo Samaj. Chittaranjan studied at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. In London, he met Aurobindo Ghosh, Atul Prasad Sen and Sarojini Naidu.

Disappointed with Gandhiji
Both Motilal Nehru and Chittaranjan Das were each other's mentors and assistants. Chittaranjan Das also expressed his dissatisfaction with the proposal of non-cooperation movement presented by Gandhi. When the Indian National Congress accepted the proposal of the non-cooperation movement, Chittaranjan Das participated in the non-cooperation movement like a disciplined worker. Chittaranjan Das was not in favor of sudden suspension of the movement by Gandhi.
Despite being in jail, Chittaranjan Das reacted sharply to the suspension of the non-cooperation movement, saying that "Mahatma ji starts a campaign brilliantly, he moves it skillfully, taking them one after the other." One success goes on till they reach the peak of their campaign, but after that they lose their courage and they start to falter."
Apart From Congress
Chittaranjan Das was a fearless and vigorous orator. In 1922, he was elected the President of the Indian National Congress. In the capacity of Speaker, Chittaranjan Das proposed to fight against the government in the Legislative Assemblies and participate in the elections. Congress did not accept Chittaranjan Das's proposal. As a result, Chittaranjan Das broke away from the Congress and with the help of Pandit Motilal Nehru established 'Swaraj Dal'. The main objective of Swaraj Dal was the independence of India. He was ready to oppose the Congress to make India independent.
Swaraj Dal Got Success In Bengal Legislative Assembly on the strength of Chittaranjan Das's hard work and he was elected leader of Swaraj Party in Bengal Legislative Council. Due to the opposition of Chittaranjan Das in Bengal, the diarchy failed.
Swaraj Party was invited to form a cabinet in Bengal. But he did not accept it. Due to their strong protest, the government had to make legislative reforms. He gave up happiness and jumped into the national struggle and his sacrifice and sacrifice became an important part of the national movement. The hardworking leader died on June 16, 1925. Not only Bengal, the whole nation used to call him by the name of Deshbandhu.
